Viareggio
Viareggio lies on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in northern Tuscany, known as Versilia Coast. It is known as the „Pearl of the Tyrrhenian“, thanks to its beaches of fine golden sand, marinas, vast pine woods and long boulevards lined with palm trees and oleander bushes. The extensive dimensions of the sandy shore of Viareggio and the gentle slope of the seabed are ideal for bathing. Viareggio is a top Tuscan town for beaches, seafood and nightlife. The nightlights make room for a lively and coloured landscape in summer and for wonderful sunsets and tranquility in winter. It is also an active manufacturing centre of shipbuilding industry, which has long been renowned around the world. Viareggio holds one of the largest and most celebrated carnivals in Italy.
