Venice
The „City of Bridges“, Venice, is situated in northeast Italy. It is built on an archipelago of 117 islands formed by 177 canals in a shallow lagoon, connected by 409 bridges.
In the old centre, the canals serve the function of roads, and every form of transportation is on water or on foot. The gondola is the symbol of Venice, which has made it famous all over the world. The Grand Canal is like main street, full of all kinds of boats and lined with beautiful buildings.
Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and one of Europe's most romantic cities. It is also known for its art, culture and architecture. Two of the most popular islands of Venice are Murano, famous for glass making, and Burano, full of colorful houses.
